Would you love to...
Make a difference in the lives of disadvantaged learners?
Give a student a new opportunity and an achievable dream for their future?
The Demartini Institute partners with education organizations such as CIDA City University (www.cida.co.za) whose students come from historically disadvantaged backgrounds and brings students from these organisations into Dr John Demartini's one day Young Adults Inspired Destiny Program.
As an official Demartini Institute partner, CIDA City University assists the Demartini Institute in identifying students from disadvantaged backgrounds who have the potential for leadership and therefore qualify for specialist educational programmes. The Demartini Institue has invited CIDA students to participate in Young Adults Inspired Destiny since 2007 and Dr Demartini annually presents talks to the students of the university.
About CIDA City University
CIDA City Campus (CIDA), based in Johannesburg, is the first virtually free higher education institution in South Africa, offering holistic education to historically disadvantaged youth who would not otherwise be able to access higher education. CIDA has emerged as the abiding hope for underprivileged students who have a desire to pursue a university level education. The university is driven to develop the infinite potential of every student regardless of his or her background.
CIDA not only offers marginalised
school leavers a unique opportunity to achieve their dreams while also helping
to break the bonds of inter-generational poverty, but also aims to transform
these students into leaders within their communities who will then advance the
socio-economic transformation of the country. This is through the Extranet
programme - a compulsory module in the curriculum where students have to be
part of community initiatives that seek to educate, inform and encourage
scholars to pursue their tertiary studies, and to also teach the community at
large new skills and more about entrepreneurial initiatives.
Founded in 2000, CIDA has to date, qualified over 1000 graduates in its primary
offering of a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree.
Through a number of partnerships with some of our donors, CIDA has enabled its
graduates to become competitive in the market place, with most of them joining
the banking and investment industries, and other key sectors of the South
African economy.
CIDA's donors and partners help uplift the lives of many disempowered South
African youth and thus improve the county's economic participation globally,
and also equip those who were previously disadvantaged with relevant and
marketable skills. CIDA's BBA degree is fully accredited by the Council
on Higher Education (CHE) of South Africa and is recorded on Level 6 of the
National Qualifications Framework (NQF) by the South African Qualifications
Authority (SAQA).
About Young Adults Inspired Destiny Program
Young Adults Inspired Destiny is a one-day programme developed by world-renowned human behavioural specialist and bestselling author Dr John Demartini. It equips students with some of the most valuable lessons to empower their future lives.
I have the potential to be who I admire. The most important thing that I will remember all my life is that my challenges will always result into growth in my life. it is really such an honour and a privilege to be granted this opportunity to be empowered at such a young age. It will have a huge impact on my destiny and my future. I understood who I am today. Siphiwe (22)
Today I learnt how to turn tragedy to triumph and live in the value of my own self-worth. I learnt about myself, how I can become the best that I can be by applying what I have learnt in today's seminar. My experience today has been nothing short of extremely extraordinary and amazing, I can truly say I have grown in leaps and bounds today. Thank you. Thembi Dube
