A Grateful Mind
“When a man, for whatever reason, has the opportunity to lead an extraordinary life, he has no right to keep it to himself.”
—Jacques Yves Cousteau
Dear Friends,
We can’t rise above and beyond anything we’re charged and emotional about, so the best way to get to do what you love is to love what you’re doing right now. State your dream clearly and then ask yourself how is what you’re doing right now prepare you for your dreams; there will always be a link, and when you see it you’ll suddenly experience gratitude for what you may have been resenting. Our brains are capable of linking anything to our dreams and vision. When you love and are grateful for what is, you get the power to turn it into what you’d love.

When you were little, did your mother ever make you write a ‘thank you’ letter to your aunt, or some other relative, for a present they’d given you? If it was something you didn’t like, say some socks or a bow tie, it was very hard to write and you’d keep putting it off, and when you finally got around to it there was a lot of editing–scratching out and rewriting and getting stuck. But if someone shared with you or gave you something that made an incredible impact on your life, and you were very grateful to them, that letter just flowed out of you. In fact, you could hardly write it as fast as it came to you. Well, your life can be the same way; a life guided and accompanied by gratitude needs little or no editing–it flows out effortlessly and you’re inspired to live it.
If you master the skill of perceiving life in the light of what is possible, to know that no matter what happens, it’s serving you dreams, then nothing can stop you. The minute you truly commit to your dream, watch the universe immediately bring you the supports and the challenges necessary to fulfill it. It happens like magic, as if it were all only waiting for you to decide. Positive or negative, supportive or challenging, peaceful or warlike, cooperative or competitive, pleasurable or painful, no matter what it is, if you can see how it’s serving you, how can you not succeed? Don’t underestimate the importance and power of a grateful mind.
Love and Wisdom,
John
