TOP SA SCHOOL GET WISE WORDS FROM DR DEMARTINI

Dr John Demartini had the honour of presenting a 2 hour presentation on Wednesday 23 February 2011 at Saint's Stithians Boy's College in Johannesburg to 500 grades 10, 11 & 12's plus their teachers. Learners crowded the school chapel to hear him speak about learning. Dr Demartini showed students how to be inspired by their curriculums, define what they would love to do with their lives and how to set, stay focused and achieve their learning goals.

After making the statement: "There is a genius inside every one of you," he went on to explain how to discover and develop that genius and how this leads to living an inspired life. He sharpened the boy's attention further when he unfolded his own story of triumph over childhood adversity. His message: it is not what happens to us that matters, it's how we perceive it and act upon it.

Dr Demartini's 400 speeches a year are usually met by enthusiastic acclamation, but the lengthy, heartfelt and deafening standing ovation from these uniformly dressed, budding young men was tribute to the impact that this talk had. The boys drummed with their hands on the back of the chapel chairs, a rare action that the headmaster said is reserved only for events that truly touch and inspire the boys.

Dr Demartini aspiration is to reach every teacher in every school across the world with his accumulated insights on teaching through values. He has been invited back to Saint Stithians to speak to their 350 teachers when he returns to South Africa in June.
